About the event
Who: The Memorial Day Planning Committee and East Mississippi Veterans Foundation invites all local residents to attend.
What: Memorial Day Tribute. Key Note Speaker is Lt. Col. Jason Byrd (Chaplain, MSARNG).
When: 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 25, 2026.
Where: East Mississippi Veterans Park (5955 M Street) off highway 11/80 near Key Field. If there is bad weather, then the tribute will take place on the 3rd floor of City Hall.
Reason: Honoring Veterans who died in America's wars and conflicts.
Emphasis: All citizens are encouraged and invited to attend. This is whether or not they have served or had family that served in any branch of the military.
