Paul B. Johnson State Park Fireworks Show

Get your patriotic outfits ready and mark your calendars for a 4th of July celebration at Paul B. Johnson State Park! Join us on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, for an action-packed day that will leave you with memories to cherish! Admission to the park for the day will be $10 a carload.

The festivities start bright and early at 8 a.m. and conclude with a show-stopping fireworks display at dark. Treat yourself to a delicious meal from one of our food truck vendors, and enjoy a refreshing treat at the snow cone stand.

Spend the day outdoors by exploring the Trail of Southern Pines Nature Trail, competing with friends and family on our two top-tier disc golf courses, or spending the day on Geiger Lake. July 4th is designated a "Free Fishing Day" statewide, allowing residents to fish without a fishing license. However, those planning to fish at Geiger Lake will need to purchase a state park lake permit.

Make a splash at the Splash Zone, where you can cool off and beat the summer heat in the most thrilling way possible. The Splash Zone will be operating at its regular hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and fees are $6 and $8!

As the sun sets, find the perfect spot to enjoy the fireworks display. Watch as the sky lights up with brilliant colors and breathtaking explosions as we celebrate the spirit of independence!
