TICKETS REQUIRED IN ADVANCE and AVAILABLE ON-LINE ONLY. ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED. TICKET DEADLINE IS 3 p.m. on FRIDAY, APRIL 5 OR SOONER IF THEY SELL OUT.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
On April 8, Mississippi will experience an 89.6% eclipse of the sun.
Join Museum staff to see and enjoy this extraordinary solar event that won’t happen again in North America until 2044!
Eclipse glasses included with advance ticket
Eclipse activities led by NASA Astro Camp Specialists (Inflatable Planetarium and SunSpotter Solar Telescopes) and Museum staff
Pinhole viewer station with Belhaven University Math & STEM
Sun tracking with chalk (similar to documenting earliest eclipses, before photographs)
Museum will be an observer and data recorder for NASA to see how the eclipse affects wildlife
GLOBE Citizen Science App with the National Weather Service: Museum will be an observer and data recorder for NASA
Eclipse Soundscapes App Citizen Science (wildlife sounds to see how the eclipse affects wildlife)
See how s'mores were made with a home-made solar oven
T&J Concessions and Barbeque Shine food trucks will be on-site (not included with ticket)
The eclipse begins at 12:33 p.m., will be at it’s maximum at 1:52 p.m., and will conclude by 3:11 p.m.
Advance tickets required for all ages. Not included with regular Museum admission, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation Membership, or the LeFleur Museum District Pass.
You will receive an email confirmation for your ticket purchase which you will show at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science gate to receive your eclipse glasses and enter the event.
