About the event
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU VISIT Inclement Weather: The site is spread over one city block in Downtown Meridian and requires movement across the open-air Steam Alley. On occasion when severe thunderstorms are predicted or TORCONs (tornado predictions) are given for the area, the site will be closed for the safety of visitors and protection of the buildings. In the past, roofs, windows and interiors have been damaged as high winds entered through open or unsecured doors at the historic Soule’ Steam Feed Works factory site. What to wear: Dress for the weather. The building is not temperature controlled. Additionally, the ground and flooring are uneven—sensible shoes are a must. Sneakers or boots are recommended. Open-toed shoes and high heels are not recommended. Restrooms & Food/Beverage: The antiquity of historic Soule’ Steam Feed Works is certainly part of the authentic experience here. However, that limits the creature comforts many of us are accustomed to. Restrooms are only available at the main entrance. Food/Beverage amenities are generally not available on-site. Five local restaurants are located within walking distance of the museum in Downtown Meridian. Photography: Photography for your personal use is permitted. For safety reasons, videography and drones are prohibited.
Accessibility: This Mississippi Landmark is generally not fully accessible, but can meet some patrons’ needs. Contact soulelivesteam@comcast.net for more information.  Liability: By purchasing admission tickets, all visitors are required to sign a liability waiver and consent to be photographed.  Admission: Site access is limited to self-guided tours on the first floor, workshops, and events. Unless otherwise noted, all admissions are ticketed.  Duration: Please allow one hour for your tour.Location & GPS: Historic Soule’ Steam Feed Works is located at 1808 4th Street, Meridian, Mississippi 39301.  Parking: Guests are welcome to park in the grassy parking lot along 18th Avenue or public parking spaces along 4th Street near the entrance. The entrance is a few steps away.  Children: While kids of all ages are welcome, the tour content is recommended for children ages 8+.   Thank you for following these guidelines. We wish for you to have the best visit possible and appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the visitor experience.
