WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU VISIT Inclement Weather: The site is spread over one city block in Downtown Meridian and requires movement across the open-air Steam Alley. On occasion when severe thunderstorms are predicted or TORCONs (tornado predictions) are given for the area, the site will be closed for the safety of visitors and protection of the buildings. In the past, roofs, windows and interiors have been damaged as high winds entered through open or unsecured doors at the historic Soule’ Steam Feed Works factory site. What to wear: Dress for the weather. The building is not temperature controlled. Additionally, the ground and flooring are uneven—sensible shoes are a must. Sneakers or boots are recommended. Open-toed shoes and high heels are not recommended. Restrooms & Food/Beverage: The antiquity of historic Soule’ Steam Feed Works is certainly part of the authentic experience here.
